Getting demand to match: ingredient codes

Restaurants publish needs by ingredient code; a supply entry must use the same code for a quote to be prepared automatically.

A restaurant’s supply needs are published not by product name but by the code of the ingredient library: a need says pork, not “猪肉”, “pork belly” or “Porc”. The supply site looks the code up among its ingredient entries and lists what it can offer from the lowest price.

  • when listing an ingredient entry, fill in “linked ingredient” with the code from the ingredient library;
  • list different specifications of one ingredient (whole, cut, frozen) as separate entries linked to the same code;
  • if the ingredient library lacks it, contribute the ingredient first and list the supply entry once it is accepted.

Ingredient codes can be looked up in the ingredient table in the data centre.
